About Local 57
UNITE HERE Local 57 has represented hospitality workers in western Pennsylvania for decades.
The majority of our members work in hotels in the Pittsburgh area. Downtown, Local 57 represents workers at the Hilton, Westin, Sheraton, Omni William Penn, Renaissance, and Doubletree hotels. We also represent workers at the Crowne Plaza and Best Western in the Pittsburgh metro area as well as the Travelodge in Erie.
The second largest group of our members work in food service operations. In downtown Pittsburgh, Local 57 represents stadium food service workers at PNC Park and the Mellon Arena. Our members prepare and serve food at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center as well as for the U.S. Steel and PPG plants. Food service workers at area colleges like Point Park University, Westminster College, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania are members of Local 57. Our members also prepare food for the airlines at SkyChefs at the Pittsburgh Airport.
Our members provide cleaning services at Allegheny College, El Teq, and Chatham Towers and also restock vending machines. Finally, our members provide hospitality at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, the LeMont Restaurant, the Fluted Mushroom, the Oyster House and Linden Hall.
